Visit Connemara – Hiking and Biking Tours in July

Connemara has long been a popular place. Connemara National Park is best visited using your own two feet! To see Connemara in its best light, consider hiking and biking tours in Connemara in July.

Once part of the Kylemore Abbey Estate, Connemara was only opened as a park in 1980 – and it has been one of Ireland’s gems ever since. It is a must-visit when it comes to visiting Ireland’s wild side!

Located in Co Galway, Galway city is an exciting urban centre for Irish culture and heritage. Winding medieval streets are lined with vibrant houses, and the smell of food leaks out of all of the cheery pubs. Ruins dating back hundreds of years are built into the city’s foundations, and the salty smell of Galway Bay is in the air.

But once you feel the wilderness calling, head up to the woods and lakes of Connemara for fresh air, chirping birds, rustles leaves and a bit of peace.

July is a great month to come if you’re looking for the best weather, though do keep in mind that it is the height of tourist season! While this means that there will be plenty of other people visiting the park, understand that it is just under 3,000 hectares of land – at Wilderness Ireland, we’ll take you on the road less travelled!
