For starters, your website is very inviting, user friendly, and easy to navigate. Communication from Day One was pleasant, thorough, and timely. No stone was left unturned and I felt completely confident in registering with Wilderness Ireland. And, when my second of two back to back treks was cancelled due to lack of participation, your team helped connect me with other opportunities in the area. Outstanding Client Service. Top Notch! Money says I'll be trekking with Wilderness Ireland again...thank you!

I've been a solo traveler on guided trekking trips for well over a decade and I can say with absolutely certainty my week on the Dingle with Wilderness Ireland (and Tom!) takes the cake. Granted, all trips vary in detail, challenge, accommodations, group dynamic, conditions, etc., but this trip was absolute perfection Soup to Nuts...even in the horizontal rain and gale force winds. It's was fantastic! I appreciated how every trek ended at a pub where we all enjoyed local adult beverages and kinship while sharing our thoughts of the day, and perhaps a spontaneous tune from Tom...more on that later! I would be remiss if I didn't mention my fellow trekkers, such an amazingly wonderful, bright, kind, and dynamic group of humans who all brought something special to the table. There wasn't a sour grape in the bunch! Good People. I never stopped laughing and am still smiling...thank you!

Accommodation & Food

Hello Hake! Every day, All day! I absolutely loved the hake...a new fish to me and couldn't get enough. Of course, the flowing wine was fabulous too! While Ireland seemingly lacks in a broad array of vegetables, who knew there were so many ways to prepare potatoes?!? Hello Colcannon! The dining establishments all varied to truly provide a traditional Irish culinary experience and our trail lunches were fantastic...NOM! Regarding accommodations, it would have been my personal preference to say in the B&B the entire time, versus having to move mid-week. It was clean, quiet, charming, and allowed for lovely evening nightcaps on the balcony over looking the water. It felt very intimate and personal, and the staff was amazing! The hotel in town was a bit bustling for my taste, a bit loud, and my room was pretty toasty, but otherwise an extremely nice accommodation. Again, just a personal preference, not a complaint. And it was nice being right in town to easily nightcap out on the town. Yes, "NightCapping" was a theme!

Your Guide

Where to begin with Tom?!? As mentioned, I've been doing guided trekking tours for over a decade and Tom is at the Top of the Top! First and foremost, I felt safe 100% of the time. Never did I have a concern about anything, especially my safety. He has keen leadership skills without being hovering. He's aware of people's needs and addresses them thoroughly and thoughtfully. He made good a decision when the weather went sideways, literally, and had a fantastic Plan B in place (Blasket Centre). He's prepared, he's engaging, he's knowledgeable, he's approachable, he's fun! And when he pulled out his guitar and his voice flowed in perfect harmony, there just may have been a collective Sigh & Swoon. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Tom!
