    Trips For Adventurous Families

Our family tours of Ireland are designed as an adventure for the whole family! Your family will love getting a backstage pass to visit regions few travellers experience.

On these private departures, enjoy daily activities tailored to meet your family’s expectations and preferences. Partner active days of family biking, hiking, kayaking and zip-lining with nature-based activities to explore Ireland’s wildlife and countryside.

Visiting Ireland with kids is easy as you dive into Irish culture with experiences such as visiting a toy factory, learning the myths of the Giant’s Causeway or climbing St Patrick’s Holy Mountain. Parents and kids alike will love their Irish family adventure!

Family Tours of Ireland's Wildest Places

The below family tours are based on a family of four but can be tailored to meet the demands of your family. There is a minimum age of 6 years old. This is a private departure and therefore the activities can be tailored to the needs and abilities of your children. Each night, stay in comfortable, family-friendly accommodation and benefit from the services of an experienced guide.

Our family tours are also designed with both adults and children in mind. Parents will love activities like tasting the gourmet cuisine of Kinsale, relaxing in luxurious spas in Kerry, whiskey-tasting in Northern Ireland, visiting working farms, honing kayaking, paddling, or canoeing skills, learning about Irish history and mythology, or even a chance to taste Ireland’s super-food, seaweed!

But don’t worry – kid-friendly activities are also built into each itinerary, such as treasure hunts, ghost tours, toy-making, puffin spotting, zip-lining, feeding the lambs, and visiting the place they filmed Star Wars!

Every client receives a feedback survey when they return from their guided, self guided or tailor made holiday with us. Once completed the review is published on our website just as soon as our database updates. The little touches and details are important to us and where issues are raised we make positive changes to our trips to improve your experience.

That’s why we read each of our client’s reviews and although we don’t respond to all of them, if it’s glowing feedback then we get the satisfaction of helping to make your holidays truly memorable.

    The Bottom Line

    The Bottom Line

We were unable to do the kayaking as originally planned due to blue-green algae being present along the Causeway Coast. The Wilderness Ireland team found an adventure center as an alternative and our kids really enjoyed it. We also did a couple of walks that were not on the agenda that added to our trip. We walked beyond the Giants Causeway along the trail to Dunseverick Castle and it was an easy walk for our family (kids 12 and 14) and so beautiful. We also walked from the Manor House to Rue Point Lighthouse on Rathlin Island. This was fantastic despite the rain. We were the only people on the beach and had the chance to observe >50 seals lying about on the rocks.
