    Finding Your Way

Planning to travel to Ireland soon? Travelling abroad can seem a bit daunting, but our useful guide will help you make your travel plans to Ireland as smooth as possible. Once you have arrived, public transport connections make getting around easy and with all our guided group trips beginning and ending at a train station arriving at the start point of any adventure is straightforward and stress-free.

We believe in responsible and sustainable travel, which is why all our itineraries are designed to minimalise their carbon footprint, support local communities, and protect the wild places we visit. In order to enable environmentally friendly travel choices we are partnered with companies that place the well-being of our planet at the heart of what they do. As adventurers, we can travel more sustainably by making well-informed choices, flying less, staying longer, and making our journeys count once we arrive.

If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, feel free to contact one of our friendly adventure consultants who are always happy to help with any queries you may have.

The majority of our guided group trips begin and end at a train station with arrival and departure times planned around the train timetables where possible. Most major towns and cities are serviced by comfortable, punctual and efficient trains, operated by Irish Rail, which make it easy for you to travel around in a sustainable manner. Train stations tend to be at the heart of each town or city, where onward connections to other places are readily available.

While it is normally possible to buy train tickets on your day of travel, it is usually more cost-effective to buy tickets in advance. Irish Rail allows you to purchase train tickets online up to 3 months in advance.

It is also possible to travel to the start points of our trips by bus, with bus stations adjacent or close to train stations, they are a convenient means of travel. Buses connect most towns in Ireland, stopping along mainlines between big cities. Ireland’s public bus service, Bus Eireann, provides the most comprehensive network. Tickets are available online for all major stations.
