Hiking and Biking Tours in Connemara in August

Described by Oscar Wilde as “a savage beauty,” west Ireland’s Connemara region has been delighting and enchanting visitors for centuries. But the very best way to experience this ‘savage beauty’ is via your own two feet – hiking and biking tours in Connemara in August.

Though an Irish summer is quite different from what most people consider ‘summer,’ August is still one of the warmest months, with (typically) lower rainfall. August is also a great month for festivals, cultural events, outdoor markets, having picnics or taking lunch on a (hopefully) sunny terrace.

Biking in Connemara

Taste freshly-caught seafood paired with a cold beer from a local brewery after a long day adventuring through the wilds of Connemara! Though the region is beautiful any time or way you visit it, to really make the best of Connemara in the summer, consider hiking and biking tours in Connemara in August.

Though August is a popular month, at Wilderness Ireland, we’ll take you off the beaten path to discover hidden Ireland, far off the typical tourist track.

Our vacations reviewed
in your own words

I have already raved about Wilderness Ireland to people I met my last few days in Ireland, to people on the planes home, to friends here at home. The only cumbersome moment was having our lunch in a plastic container that didn't fully seal so there was some leakage into the backpack....how's that for a privileged complaint? Seriously, I was well aware I had stumbled on (I'm still not sure how I discovered Wilderness Ireland....I think an email...) an experience I would forever cherish. I'm still processing. I know travel enhances us but this trip did so in ways I could not have imagined. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
