    Mini Bio

From my earliest memories, I have been drawn to exploring the remote, the wild and the isolated. Sharing these places with others on foot or bike brings me the greatest joy. The change of seasons, the abundance of nature, the sun, the wind and the rain are my oxygen. Hidden valleys, stone walls and ancient roads race in my blood. A quiet pint, fresh crab claws, a beautiful ballad or a story well told feed my soul.

I have been fortunate to have walked, cycled and explored much of Europe’s most amazing backdrops but I am always drawn back to the wilds of Ireland. As a child and later as a parent its extraordinary landscape, history and culture have kept me nurtured.

I am lucky to have been able to share these experiences with family and friends for many years. Mountain biking steep slopes, cycling remote roads, climbing a mountain or paddling an estuary, always so much to do.

    Favourite Place to Play

Sheep’s Head and the Beara Peninsulas in West Cork are very, very special to me.

As a seventeen-year-old, I set off on my motorbike and I hostelled, camped and explored the Ireland of that time.

    Then I cycled it.

    Then I climbed it.

    And eventually, I walked it.

I love to share my lifelong love for these adventures with other people.

Kevin was excellent, perhaps the best guide my wife and I have had on any of our hiking trips. He eas knowledgable about the relevant history and geography of each area. He communicated clearly and responded well to questions. Equally important, he made the eight of us feel we were part of a vibrant group.

Kevin was one of the best guides we've ever had. Well versed in history of the areas - and birds, flowers, animals, land, geology, etc. Really worked well with a motley crew of interesting folks who signed on for the trip. Always aware of safety, of comfort for the individuals and of trying to meet special interests of individuals. Supported but did not coddle - had a great sense of humor and seemed to never tire.

Kevin is an exceptional guide. He went to a lot of effort to understand our interests and to adapt our itinerary accordingly. He has vast knowledge of and passion for Ireland, the history, and the wild places we visited. We very much enjoyed his company for the week and loved the music he shared with us in the van.

Kevin Cronin is a kind, skilled, knowledgable driver and guide. He went out of his way to deal with daily unplanned events that prevented us from completing all of the planned events and visits. We covered many miles in our VW van which was clean, spacious, comfortable and enjoyable. We collaborated constantly to find locations and events that met our goals of experiencing prehistoric northern ireland, seeing birds and other unique wildlife and experiencing natural beauty.
