Andree Walkin

Mini Bio

I bring a wealth of adventure, endurance sport, and outdoor experience to my work as a guide with Wilderness Ireland. I have a strong background in cycling, triathlon, multi-sport racing, and endurance events both in Ireland and on the international circuit.

I hold a BA in Outdoor Education and am a qualified triathlon and kayaking coach. When I’m not racing or coaching, you’ll most likely find me doing what I love most — guiding and climbing mountains, kayaking rivers, or swimming in the sea.

I’ve taken part in several high-altitude mountaineering expeditions and have had the opportunity to work with a variety of extreme and endurance athletes, as well as professional sportspeople. My passion for performance and wellbeing led me to complete a First Class Honours MSc in Sport, Exercise and Performance Psychology at the University of Limerick. My specialist research focuses on promoting wellbeing through positive psychology, including the benefits of nature-based interventions and blue and green exercise.

I love sharing Ireland’s wild landscapes with visitors and helping people experience the powerful connection between adventure, nature, and wellbeing.

Favourite Place to Play

I love the wild and rugged landscapes of Connemara on Ireland’s west coast. With its sweeping mountains, quiet boglands, and endless Atlantic views, it’s a place that feels both powerful and peaceful at the same time.

I’m a former European Triathlon Age Group medalist and winner of the Dublin City Triathlon.
