    Mini Bio

A Sligo native, my childhood was spent running up and down the sand dunes and beaches of Strandhill and Rosses Point every weekend. With 2 dogs in the house, hiking and walking are a frequent weekend pastime and I love to get out and about in Sligo which has some fantastic trails, hikes and runs right on my doorstep.

    Favourite Places to Play

Exploring Connemara, especially around Clifden and Killary Fjord; St John’s Point in Donegal; and my local stomping ground in Sligo.

Not a lot of People Know This

I have no phobias, not a one. Mice, spiders, snakes, heights, flying, water, I’m all good. So far anyway!

    Education Read More

After I left school, I completed an Accounting Technician qualification and worked for over 10 years in the accounts and administration industry.

In 2008, I decided to change careers and went to night classes to study a FETEC level 5 Childcare Course. This lead to me going to college full time the following year in 2009 to complete a BA (Honours) Social Care Degree, for which I earned a first class honours degree.

The same year, I also began training with CMAS, the Irish Underwater Federation to gain my certificate in Scuba Diving. This process involves a number of hours spent in the classroom completing lectures as well as open water hours perfecting your techniques. Since then, I have gone on to gain my full Diver 2* qualification, Dry suit diver certification, Nitrox Diver Certification and Diver Coxwain qualifications.

I’ve been at Wilderness Ireland since 2017, where I help make dream holidays become reality.

    Interests Read More

In the past I have dived in the Red Sea in Egypt, I regularly dive around the coastlines and shipwrecks of Malta and Gozo and I’ve also done a lot of diving on my home turf, such wonderful spots as St John’s Point in Donegal, Dún Briste sea stacks in Mayo, Killary Fjord on the border of Galway and Mayo, Portroe Quarry in Co. Tipperary and Hook Head in Wexford. Not to mention diving in my own backyard – the gullies of Mullaghmore and sheer walls of Ballyconnell. I have dived WWII wrecks, coral reefs, scuppered ships and caves!

In 2015, I bought my first motor bike – a wee Honda CBR250rr – and began the process of taking lessons and getting my motorcycle licence. Since then, I have graduated onto also owning a Suzuki GSXR600 and a Kawasaki Z750. Today, I am a member of an all-female motorcycle club and help organise female-lead charity and fun-runs around the country as well as spending time visiting local beaches towns and villages and just enjoying the countryside.

    Travel Read More

Travel is very important to me and something I have been able to indulge in more as my family has gotten older and less dependant.

I have travelled to America and Canada several times and love hiking in the Rockies, whitewater rafting in Banff and exploring the landscapes of Jasper and Banff National Park. I’ve also explored several European cities such as Prague, Milan, Rome, Oslo, Copenhagen, Malmo, Dusseldorf, Vienna, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Madrid and Barcelona.

As always with travel, I have ambitions to go further afield and tick off many more countries along the way!

    Hobbies Read More

On top of diving, travel, and motorcycles, I am a book-loving, reading, podcast enthusiast. I also like knitting & crochet, boxing, camping and fishing.
