With your own private guide, activities can be tailored to meet your family’s needs, preferences and expectations.

Day 1 – Meet the Ghosts of Kinsale

Start your family tour of Southwest Ireland in the historic town of Kinsale to enjoy a unique introduction to the town via a ghost tour. Learn about Kinsale’s vibrant history while meeting colourful characters of Kinsale’s past as they come alive during an entertaining evening ghost tour before sampling the famed cuisine the gourmet capital of Ireland! (D)

Day 2 – Smugglers, Forts & Battles

Listen to tales of conquests, wine smugglers and battles of old before exploring Kinsale’s coast with your guide to one of the largest Irish military forts from the 17th century. Children will love exploring the lookouts and tunnels in this hands-on dive into history! Keep your tastebuds happy by eating in an award-winning local Irish pub. (B,L)

Day 3 – Sea Kayaking & Seashore Picnic

Often raided by pirates over the centuries, we’ll kayak along Kinsale’s seashore to where the pirates once landed. A great way to learn local history, kayaking West Cork’s coast allows your family to enjoy a relaxed coastal journey and a family picnic on the water’s edge – perhaps even a wee dip in the ocean! (B,L)

Day 4 – The Ring of Kerry & Toy Soldier Factory

Off to the Kingdom of Kerry! First stop, the Toy Soldier Factory to learn how toys are made and even create and paint a toy ourselves! Afterwards, drink in the sweeping panoramas of Kerry’s unforgettable coast. Continuing along the famous Ring of Kerry, we’ll arrive at our next family-friendly accommodation on the glittering Kenmare Bay. (B,L)

Day 5 – Fairies in the Woods

Today is about kicking back and relaxing. Perfectly set up for children, your accommodation sports an outdoor treasure hunt, playground, indoor play zone and miniature fairy houses hidden in the woods. Parents can enjoy the spa or any other exciting activities on offer. Your guide can assist with bookings, take people for a walk in the hills or even go seashore foraging. (B)

Day 6 – Skellig Michael

Catching a boat on the Atlantic, we’ll island-hop over to the famed Skellig Islands.*  In ancient times, Skellig Michael was home to monks seeking solitude, and there are still remarkable monastic ruins clinging to its jagged slopes. However today, the islands are known as part of a galaxy far, far away – the Skelligs are a filming location for Star Wars Episodes VII and VIII! After getting up close to these islands to encounter wildlife and history, we’ll enjoy a celebratory final dinner together tonight. (B,L,D)

Day 7 – Departure

This morning ends our family tour of southwest Ireland. We shall say goodbye to the wild coasts of West Cork and Kerry and transfer back to Killarney Train Station. If you have time before departing, consider a wander through the buzzing market town of Killarney – or perhaps even a walk through the nearby Killarney National Park! (B)
