Surrender to luxury at this 5 star Relais & Chateaux lodge, also home to a 2AA Rosette restaurant. The history of this mighty place starts in the 1600s. Land and title were gifted to the Englishman who oversaw the first detailed map survey of Ireland during the troubled Cromwellian era. The first house on the estate was a simple shooting and fishing house, unchanged until 1854 when a new fishing lodge was built. The estate changed hands several times until it was purchased by a Danish family in the 1980s, who converted into an acclaimed 5 star hotel guests experience today.

Set at the heart of Kenmare Bay in Co Kerry, Sheen Falls is the ideal base for visitors looking to discover the beauty of southwest Ireland. This area is an outdoor lover’s haven – from mountains to waterfalls, rivers, bays, and beaches, there are so many places to explore. Nestled between the Ring of Kerry on the Iveragh Peninsula and the Beara Peninsula to the south amongst the highest peaks in Ireland, Sheen Falls offers a superb location from which to discover this amazing region, offering comfort and style after a day outdoors.

    Local Experiences

    Gourmet Fishing Experience

Meet up with a local fisherman and storyteller who will take you out on his boat for a day of fishing. Enjoy a lunch of freshly caught fish cooked up on a deserted beach with stunning views of the surrounding waterscape as your guide regales you with local history, folklore, legend and stories.

    Gap of Dunloe Experience

Many people wish to see the Ring of Kerry and do so from the window of a car or bus. Not you! Instead, you’ll meet up with a cheery boatsman who will take you across the lakes of Killarney past ancient stone castles and bridges through the stunning mountain scenery of Kerry. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy some walking in the area and perhaps even a traditional horse and cart ride.

    Kayaking on the Bay

Located on the edge of the bay, hotel guests might enjoy an unforgettable paddling exploration of Kenmare Bay. Most guests kayak or paddleboard by day – but for those looking for an unforgettable time, we recommend a sunset excursion where you’ll experience the magic of a setting sun and a starlit world lit by the sparkling bioluminescence below the waves.
