    Mini Bio:

I live in An Cheathru Rua Galway in the heart of Connemara, a wild region that is famous for its rugged beauty, pockets of native Irish language speakers (called the Gaeltacht) and of course the hardy Connemara ponies. I am passionate about the outdoors and love showing guests this beautiful country on the edge of Europe.

    Favourite place to play:

The West Coast of Ireland. In particular, I love the western islands, as well as Connemara and the Burren national parks. The west coast of Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way is full of absolutely magnificent areas to explore, whether it’s the stone forts of the Aran Islands, the mountains of Connemara or the limestone plateaus of the Burren.

Not a lot of people know this:

    I once supported Arsenal.

    Experience Read More

I have been guiding in Ireland’s outdoors for many years mainly covering Connemara, Mayo and the Burren.

    Biggest Adventures Read More

First and foremost would be camping and hiking in Denali and Wrangell-St Elias National Parks in Alaska. These places offer incredible boundless wilderness that spreads out in every direction – the kind of place where you really feel part of the food chain.

Another of my most memorable travel adventures would be walking the French Camino in one go. After you get over the blisters the first week, and the “what am I doing here” the second week, then it is a truly magical thing to do!

And then for a different sort of adventure, sailing with my wife in a 36ft Jeanneau yacht in the Greek islands for a week.

    Favourite Activities Read More

Vegetable Gardening: We are so lucky in Ireland to have such a wonderful climate for growing our own food.

Stargazing: I love stargazing and find it very peaceful. Watching the skies helps to put things into perspective, whether you’re gazing at Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s moons or just the sheer size of our galaxy home.

    Adventurer's Stories about Tomás

Thomas was very attentive, easy going and went out of his way to make sure everyone was having a good time. He is very knowledgeable about the area and history ... he is a little on the quiet side, which was fine for our group. We would of liked to have a dinner or two on our own ... not that we didn't enjoy his company, it just creates a different conversation dynamic.
