Place to Play
Really, anywhere outdoors with friends! But to highlight a few favourites, I think that the Nephin Beg hills in West Mayo are the perfect place to get out and hike, as they have panoramic views but are still completely wild.
I love the dramatic headlands of Howth Head, as they are just north of Dublin but feel so far away from the city. If I’m looking for a challenge, I head down to Lugnaquilla mountain in the beautiful Co Wicklow.
The wild Mweelrea mountain in Co. Mayo just north of Killary Fjord is another favourite. And finally, the ancient Celtic site of the Hill of Tara is an amazing place to re-energise.

I had a pet pig who was a great soccer player – what an excellent defender!
Mini Bio
I’ve been playing outside in the mountains all over Ireland for the past 30 years and I’m not stopping anytime soon! Working as a mountain guide is the cherry on top – life is certainly looking after me. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to trek through high mountains all over the world.
Working and being outdoors in Ireland is what I truly love. I am passionate about sharing my love of Ireland as well as its great adventures, people and culture with others.
My hobby is ‘Adventure Racing’ which I do badly but I thoroughly enjoy. I adore being alive and enjoying places and experiences to the max!
