    Mini Bio

I love being active and enjoying the outdoors. From adventure racing – which combines many sports such as hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and climbing – to cycle-touring, I love to travel and explore by my own power. I’ve travelled and lived abroad, and feel intensely lucky to have visited some of the world’s most amazing sites – Mt Kilimanjaro, the Atlas Mountains, the Inca Trail, the Alps. Even Everest basecamp! Closer to home, I spend a lot of time on the west coast, especially Mayo, Sligo, Connemara… and can’t wait to share these amazing places with you!

    Favourite Place to Play

Choosing a single place is hard – I love the whole west coast of Ireland! Hard pressed, I’d have to say Mayo’s Nephin Beg hills, where you find properly wild landscapes and not a farmhouse in sight!

Not a lot of People Know This

I love bikes – all kinds. Most people know that I love bicycles and mountain bikes, but I also have a special spot for vintage motorbikes!

The far-flung corners of the earth have always intrigued me, drawing me to discover the world. Amongst other adventures, I’ve been lucky enough to follow the Inca Trail in Peru, climb the iconic Mt Kilimanjaro, hike across the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco as well as summit Morocco’s 4,000 metre (13,600 ft) Mt Toubkal and even trekked to Mount Everest basecamp.

An apt cyclist, I’ve bike 1,200 kms (745 miles) on the Eurovelo 6 route that winds its way through the beautiful backcountry, tiny villages and Alpine landscapes of France, Switzerland and Germany. I also decided that I wanted to visit Vietnam, but wanted to do it in a different way than most – so I decided to tour Vietnam by bike!

Not only have I travelled to the farthest reaches of the world, but I’ve lived there too – I spent about 5 months in New Zealand, exploring the rich and dramatic mountainous landscapes of this beautiful country.
