It wasn't clear in the info pack if luggage would be transported or we'd be carrying it. I phoned to check.

Heatons in Dingle was fabulous. Second was the one in Annascaul. Third was the one in Ballydavid and last was the one on the peninsula (blue harbour?) Re:Food. The first meal in the pub in Annascaul wasn't very good. The South Pole Inn was fascinating and food pretty good. That one is a must! Food places in Dingle were to die for as the last night. Packed lunches were all good apart from Blue Harbour again.

Tom was really friendly, and helpful and went out of his way to make sure we didn't miss stuff - he drove a few of us to see something we would otherwise have missed after dinner. He also drove me to my accomodation after the trip which was very much appreciated. Not quite as experienced or as knowledgeable about flowers and things as the last trip I went on but he still knew loads more than me!
The Bottom Line
A good trip in a beautiful corner of Ireland. We were astoundingly lucky with the weather and saw views that I wasn't expecting to see given Ireland's traditional climate! It's a nice walk but there is a fair bit of road walking. The best day was the penultimate day which is higher and from memory mostly grassy hillside. Staying in Dingle was also a joy given the amazing food choices! This was my first trip to Ireland "proper" and I'll definitely be back.

emails were answered well. the photo link didn't work so you had to send individual photos. I was not sure how much non-walking stuff to bring (clothes) - a little hint that "anything goes" would have been good. I didn't know we had the VW with all week or that there would be a lot of driving from place to place.

TEAM WILDERNESS RESPONSE:

Thank you so much for your feedback. We were glad to share our amazing photographs with you even if it did mean email them all individually. We do cover a lot of ground on this trip to allow you to get to four beautiful islands and will take your feedback into account when reviewing the trip at the end of this season.

we were a very varied bunch of people - not easy to pitch conversations and info at the right level but he tried very hard. Jed was extremely attentive.
The Bottom Line
lovely part of the world. tell future clients to think "casual" for the evenings and those prone to travel-sickness should think twice, as there are rocky boats and lots of long drives.

TEAM WILDERNESS RESPONSE:
It sounds like you enjoyed your experience with Wilderness Ireland overall and hopefully we’ll see you back in the Ireland again soon.

I didn't seem to receive all of the emails. The one that actually contained a description of the day-to-day schedule was one that I missed- or if it came it was not titled in such a way that I quickly recognized it for what it was
Fionnuala did a superb job booking our train tickets and everything worked perfectly for which we are very grateful. Thank you!

TEAM WILDERNESS RESPONSE:

Thank so much so much for your feedback. Our day-to-day schedule, our 'Trip Dossier' is included in our Booking Conformation email. It is possible to download a copy of the schedule directly from our website and our team are always happy to send a copy if requested. We are delighted we were able to assist with getting to and from start/finish points on our trip so that you could spend more time enjoying the preparations for your holiday and less time wondering how to get there.

Accommodation and Food
I really had no problem with the food and accommodations because we didn't pay that much money to take this trip. I think we got good value for our money as far as hotels and same with the food. I marked it average because we didn't pay what it would have required to stay in 5 star places and eat really gourmet food. If we had done so, my rating would probably habe been "Excellent." I think if that is what people want they shouldn't go on a hiking and island hopping trip. I would say the the food and accommodation in Kenmare were of a notably higher caliber than the other two.
Your Guide
I have already commented on Ged, and very positively, however, I will say that his sense of the time it takes to do something wasn't all that precise. This isn't a big deal, and it may be more cultural than anything else. In my world time is of the essence, so I am acutely aware of it. One should not worry about it on vacation, so it is entirely possible that the challenge was more mine than Ged's.

TEAM WILDERNESS RESPONSE:

It's true that in Ireland our more relaxed pace of life means that we don't always stick to a strict schedule. As you say, that's part of the experience of being here. However, we'll pass your comments onto Ged and convey the importance of being more precise.
The Bottom Line
If the scenery doesn't feed your soul every single day you may be dead. Ireland is a place to take a step back, slow one's breathing, and truly live in the moment. The people are some of the kindest, most engaging in the world and their music can remind you of what it means to be alive. Wilderness Ireland delivers all of this and more.

No problem with the food but I think that accomodations are too luxury for wet walkers with dirty pants, and rucksack

Ged is caring and deep, he did everything
The Bottom Line
sometimes small problems but a good trip
I sure I'll be back with Wilderness to explore another part of Ireland
